I have the biggest girl crush on Christina Hendricks. Not only do I adore her on Mad Men, but I think she genuinely may be one of the most beautiful people on Earth, to say nothing of the fact that she represents well for the naturally pale folks out there (me included). In short, I think she’s great. I just don’t usually think all that highly of the outfits she chooses for herself.
I understand that Christina’s figure is somewhat of an outlier by Hollywood standards, and that means that not only do stylists not have as much experience dressing her, but she has a whole different set of angles and concerns to consider when shopping for herself. In this ensemble, for example, the billowing pink pants would have been much better if they had been close-cropped cigarette pants instead of unstructured wide leg slacks. With a soft knit top and that many pastels, something in the outfit needs to have some structure. I can’t quibble with Hendricks’ pale pink Mulberry Bayswater, though – it’s beyond criticism.
